Rosemary Zimu began her career in theater, starring In the South African production of Moulin Rouge. In 2014, she made her feature film debut in the Nollywood movie 'Champagne’, earning a nomination for Most Promising Actress of the Year for her role as a femme fatale scam artist. She later appeared in South African shows like ‘Wena Wedwa’, ‘Isidingo’, ‘Generations: The Legacy’ and ‘Scandal’.
Rosemary joined the cast of ‘The Queen’, one of South Africa’s most popular shows. With the launch of Netflix in South Africa, she secured a featured role in the Netflix original series ‘Shadow’ and starring role in the Netflix African original series ‘Savage Beauty, which premiered in May 2022. In August 2022, ‘Ayeye Stripped’ was released with Rosemary portraying Zoleka, a 30-year old on the brink of destitution. In February 2023, Rosemary played a detective by day and led an all-female assassin group by night in ‘Nine - the Movie’, which was featured at the Johannesburg Film Festival and made its first International premiere at the Cannes Film Festival 2024. Rosemary was the lead and the sole South African cast member in the film. In the same year she joined the cast of the Mzansi Magic Telenovela ‘My Brother's Keeper', taking on a pivotal role. Savage Beauty Season 2 premiered on Netflix globally on 28 June 2024.
