Cha McCoy, MBA is a sommelier, speaker, educator, and award-winning beverage entrepreneur. She is the founder and CEO of Cha Squared Experiences, LLC, a beverage consulting company focused on events, tourism, and education. And the owner of The Communion a boutique wine and spirits store located in Upstate NY. She is a Certified Sommelier with the Court of The Master Sommeliers and has been recognized by Vinepair Media as Wine Professional of The Year, Wine Enthusiast Magazine as Top 40 Under 40 Tastemakers, and Wine & Spirits Magazine's Rising Black Voices in Wine. McCoy’s list of clients includes The James Beard Foundation, Cherry Bombe Magazine, Charleston Wine + Food Festival as well as a selection of wine and spirit brands. She remains engaged with new wine drinkers working as an adjunct professor teaching wine history and appreciation at Syracuse University, her alma mater. Her work has been celebrated for making wine more accessible, through initiatives like the signature wine dinner series, The Communion, which has now evolved to the upcoming book COMMUNION: Pairings for the People with publisher Harvest/Harper Collins.
