From Joburg to Tollywood: Prince Grootboom Joins Jr NTR in Prashanth Neel's “Dragon”
We're proud to share that Prince Grootboom has officially been announced as part of the cast of Dragon, the highly anticipated pan-Indian action film starring Jr NTR and directed by Prashanth Neel - the visionary filmmaker behind the global phenomenons KGF and Salaar.
This marks Prince's first foray into Indian cinema and another defining step in a career that is rapidly crossing borders. From leading the Netflix feature 180 to his standout turn as Jacob in Fatal Seduction Season 3, Prince has built a body of work that has placed him firmly on the international radar. Joining one of the biggest film projects currently in production anywhere in the world is the next chapter in that trajectory - and a powerful signal of the global reach South African talent is commanding right now.
Previously known by its working title NTRNeel, Dragon unveiled its official title alongside an explosive first-look glimpse on May 20, the eve of Jr NTR's birthday. The teaser introduces Jr NTR as Luger, a fierce, rugged character set against a gritty 1967 backdrop, with the story unfolding around the Golden Triangle and the international opium trade. Within 24 hours of its release, the glimpse crossed 64 million views on YouTube, making it the most-watched glimpse ever for an Indian film, according to the makers.
Watch the glimpse here:
Prince joins a powerhouse ensemble that spans multiple Indian film industries and international talent, including Anil Kapoor, Biju Menon, Rukmini Vasanth, Khushbu Sundar, Ashutosh Rana, Sidhant Gupta, Guru Somasundaram, Rajeev Kanakala, Anshuman Pushkar, Prabhas Srinu, Shatru, Shiva, Bhimal Jeet Oberoi, Aleksandr Mizev, and Benedict Paul Garrett.
