Hope Mbhele Signs with Rebelle Management South Africa

The film, TV, and media star joins the elite roster at Rebelle Management to expand her presence globally

South Africa (22 August 2025) - Rebelle Management South Africa is thrilled to announce the signing of multi-talented actress, presenter, and sportscaster Hope Mbhele - the self-proclaimed “Zulu girl with some power”. She joins the agency’s Film & TV division alongside Lunathi Mampofu, Thando Thabethe, and Bohang Moeko, further strengthening Rebelle’s roster of leading African talent.

Mbhele’s journey in South African entertainment is as dynamic as it is inspiring. A native of Port Shepstone, she has built a career that spans acting, radio and television broadcasting hosting, and digital content creation, earning her a devoted following and cementing her status as one of the country’s most versatile media personalities.

Her premiere leading role in the Showmax movie No Love Lost showcased her depth as an actress, while her performances on hit television series such as Shaka: iLembe, Umkhokha, Goodbye Gogo, uThando Lwethu (Netflix), and Uzalo (SABC 1) have demonstrated her remarkable range on-screen. Mbhele’s ability to inhabit characters with authenticity and nuance has consistently drawn praise from critics and audiences alike.

Off-screen, Mbhele has proven herself equally compelling. She has hosted some of South Africa’s most high-profile events, including the South African Music Awards (SAMAs), the DStv M-VCA Awards, and the KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng Sports Awards, bringing her energy, professionalism, and warmth to every stage. Her radio career, spanning Gagasi FM and Metro FM, has allowed her to connect with audiences across the country, building trust and a loyal fanbase.

“Joining Rebelle Management is an exciting next step for me,” Mbhele says. “This partnership gives me the platform to grow creatively and professionally, and to explore new opportunities in acting, broadcasting, and media. I look forward to connecting with audiences across South Africa and the continent in even more meaningful ways. What makes this moment even more special is joining a woman-led agency during Women’s Month. It feels powerful to stand with women who are leading, creating in, and shaping the industry.”

Tanisha Colon-Bibb, founder of Rebelle Management, adds: “Hope is a remarkable talent. Her career reflects a rare combination of versatility, professionalism, and relatability. She’s equally at home in front of a camera or a live audience, and her range across acting, broadcasting, and hosting makes her a unique asset to our Film & TV division.”

“Beyond her impressive portfolio, what stands out is Hope’s ability to resonate with audiences across the country. She’s a true role model and a trailblazer, and we are excited to support her as she expands her presence across South Africa and the continent.”

This signing represents more than a new chapter for Mbhele - it is a strategic partnership designed to position her as a leading figure in African and global entertainment. Rebelle Management will work closely with Mbhele to leverage her experience and versatility, amplifying her voice in Film, TV & Radio, exploring new opportunities for brand collaborations and business ventures, all while guiding the next phase of her career growth.
